St. Patrick Church

ARCHITECT

 Daniel Krief, R.A.
LOCATION

 Chatham, NJ
PROJECT TYPE

 Interior Renovation

PROJECT DETAILS

St. Patrick’s congregation included a large population of small children. With the congregation having outgrown the seating capacity of the existing church and no option for outward expansion, the Pastor hired DKA - Daniel Krief Associates to find additional seating within the confines of the existing building.

Daniel Krief Associates was able to increase the seating capacity by moving the choir loft forward and relocating the organ pipes behind the altar, making room for pews that would provide an additional 150 seats.

An expanded narthex, children’s prayer room with child size pews, a cry room with closed circuit TV and large windows providing an unobstructed view of the altar were added to the vestibule. A new color scheme of deep reds and greens found in classic religious design, detailed stenciling on the ceiling and walls, new tile floors, chandeliers, sacristy, altar, ambo and baptismal font were also important elements of the renovation.
